The long preparation begins
Went to talk to my Pastor. We had a good conversation, but no real headway in starting up the new ministry. It is simply going to take time. It is going to take much personal growth and much preparation.
In the meantime, the family and I just got home from the state fair where Toby Mac performed. AWESOME performance! His final song, after the enchor, was "Jesus Freak." As I walked out of the arena, the words of the song ran through my head and made me ask a question. What about my life would draw others to Christ? Would people bother labeling me a Jesus Freak, or just another hypocrite? Would people simply think I'm strange, or would they think I'm strange because my best friend was born in a manger? I know, I've taken some liberties with the song, but these are questions that I am asking. The answer I suppose is that it is all in the process. It is all in the growth of one who follows Christ. We can't be like Jesus- be a Jesus Freak- unless we know Him. We can't know Him unless we are in His word and on our knees before Him daily. SO, guess where I am going to try to be each morning and each night?
