How to Promote Your Book on a Shoestring Budget will be release on August 4!!! I have been so busy trying to get it proofread, edited, laid out and ready to print I haven't even had time to take my own advice about blogging with regular update about the book!

How to Promote Your Book on a Shoestring Budget started its life as the 8-page booklet "How to Promote Your Benefit Concert on a Shoestring Budget" way back in 1990. That's how long I have been organizing promotional, marketing and publicity tips along with event-planning ideas. I started work on a book about books in September of 2006, and even had a proof copy done at a local vanity press. However, I was very unhappy with the results and have spent the past two years refining the book and adding four new chapters plus a checklist, as well as workbook pages with every chapter.

The book has been through the editing process, has been designed and laid out, and now I am just waiting for the final product to roll off the presses by the end of the month!

If you order the book, I want you to know that's not all you get! I have just created a Yahoo group where my readers will have access to me and to other writers where you can give feedback, ask questions, and share your own tips. I hope you will join us at the: PromoteYourBook Yahoo Group

I will also post occasional tips, new ideas, and updates on the website on the "Extras" page of the Promote Your Books website! One of the first "Extras" is from Dan Meyer, a sword swallower (who can be seen competing on "America's Got Talent" this summer). Dan was gracious enough to write a Top-Ten List of Social Networking Tips for the book. He has since given the subject more thought and come up with a really excellent article posted at

"Dan's Tips on Social Networking"

The chapter on Social Networking is one of 20 chapters in the book devoted to helping you find ways to promote your book for free or at low cost. Enjoy! Find out more about the book at the:

You don't have to be writing a book to join. It is for people thinking about writing a boo, who are actually in the process, and for folks who have actually completed a book and had it self-published.

What kind of books are you writing?
