i don't remember who asked it a few months ago, but it was a good idea then and is a good idea now...
all of us attend different churches, and have different pastors and teachers from all over the country, and we have this wonderful forum in which to share...i think it would be cool to see what God revealed to us each week during our worship services and Sunday School times.
i also hope i'm not alone in thinking this...otherwise it's going to be a very lonely group...
Peace and Grace,
bk
Oh wow....that sounds amazing! Is it a book or something I could look into??
As for church this week. Hmm....Service or Sunday School???
Service...
It was titled "People of Integrity"
Ephesians 2:10
There were four main points
1. Are you honest with others?
2. Respect
3. Responsibility
4. Consistency
It was pretty amazing some of the things that Pastor said about these and how we act in the world today. Talking about being a light to the world in work and in play.
He also said that we shouldn't get discouraged when we look at the areas that we have failed. We should get back up, ask for forgiveness, and go at it again. Look at all of the "failures" that God used in the Bible. Seriously...King David was one of them. He was a murderer and an adulterer. We should always remember that grace is bigger than anything.
Church service from today for me was about surounding yourself with the right groups of people starting with God as your first circle and then family and then good friends not people that are unchurched we create these ministries within a church to reach out to the unchurched for example i just moved to nashville tennassee and im already working on membership at my new church and after membership i will be apart of the mens committee and i want to try to start a recreation department like i did at my church in florida there were alot of people saved because of that and i think here, my new home i have the drive to save alot of people, my church is all about new ideas because their mission is the same as my other church in florida Our Mission Is The Great Commission as should be all the churches in the world. Ok sorry for blabing all you guys probably did not understand any of that
The Oasis continued the LoveSmart series on relationships. They did a couple videos that were pretty funny:
What has surprised me most about the series is how much I have learned! I always thought I was great in relationships until this series. I have realized that I need to do a lot of things differently in the next relationship I am in.
today was the first service since the death of Katy, one of the singers in our praise band. very emotional, and apparently Tim, her husband and the girls went to church today. which i really respect, but i was frankly, surprised. tim is a bit of a quiet guy, and i would have guessed he would have stayed home, but how important and strong for him to come. surely God was with him today...wish i would have seen him.
i am not sure how the band made it through the set. had an incredible version of Todd Agnew's "Our Great God" (it's a duet with Rebecca St. James). wow. so, so impressive.
it was one of Katy favorite songs.
i know this isn't much about what i learned today in Worship, but it was sort of a special day.
also, today i learned that Psalm 77 in the Message uses a line that is of the utmost significance for me. In Switchfoot's great song, The Setting Sun, there is a line Jon Foreman wrote, "I've got a wound that doesn't heal" this line in the Message was similar, using the words, " my life was an open wound that wouldn't heal."
i read that line and things got crazy today...

I love this idea! This week at church we started a series on relationships called Love Smart. At first I didn't think I would learn much since I am not dating anyone right now but I actually learned a lot about what to look for in a future partner and how to bring God into your dating life.
