DON'T LET ANYONE LOOK DOWN ON YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE YOUNG, BUT SET AN EXAMPLE for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12; Since there are many younger (in age) people on this site, I thought it would be good to post this Scripture to find out what your thoughts and experiences have been with "being young" OR what your experiences have been with "the young".

I have gone through so much for my age and it is hard for me to believe that I have survived it all. Which would not be the case if it was not for my personal relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I get told a lot that I act older than I am and that used to bother me til I realized that my experiences have made me who I am and made me have the relationship I have with the Lord. If it was not for those experiences I probably would still be in the world and not committed to the Lord. I give him all Praise for the good the bad and the ugliness that has occurred in my life and I thank him for making me me. I am still a work in progress and probably will remain so until the Lord calls me home. Maybe I will share another time what I have gone through if you all are interested but right now I was just commenting on the age, which by the way I am 31 years young.

you know, our perceptions are funny. I'm 32 years old, and
people have called me "kid" forever...it really used to bother me.
I've tried analyzing it over and over again.
I'd think, "I've been through sooooo much......I've had to handle
adult stuff at such a young age...."...I've wondered if it was
because, until recently, I've always looked younger than my
age....I started a new job in March of last year, and I haven't
gotten the "kid" term yet...until the other day. I've thought
that maybe it is because I'm naturally goofy....so, who knows?

LOL...I only know that the Lord created me for His pleasure,
so I won't say to my Maker anymore, "What is this that you have made?"...

A few years ago, I was driving to my grandmother's after work,
and talking with the Lord.
I was upset, and I asked the Lord why I had to go through everything that
I did in my life. I asked the Lord why I didn't grow up in a family like my
pastor's wife grew up in. Her father was a pastor, she had grown up going
to church and was pretty protected all of her life. In our house, we never
went to church, and even saying the word "God" was shameful. I had so
many struggles growing up......While driving,
I turned down a side road, and saw a man
walking out of a trailer park to a car parked on the side of the road. He
had a beer in his hand, and he looked up at me. I looked into his
eyes and he looked so lost........I thought back to my teenage years
when I was an alcoholic; and then Lord said to me, "Because you
wouldn't have compassion on people as you do now."

I am almost 16 (my birthday is the 25th). I am definatly younger than you two lol but i also feel i have been through a lot. i dont really have time to give examples but i know that my experiances have caused me to grow in the Lord so much over the years and people usually say i act older than my age as well.

About 3 years ago, I was going through some really hard times in my life. I came home from work one day, and I went to my bedroom, laid on the bed, and stared at the ceiling. My youngest daughter, who was 3 years old at the time came in and said, "Mom, do you remember that dragon tales where they were all running a race? A bunch of thunderstorms came up, but they kept running because they wanted to win the prize?" Wow---that floored me. I knew that the Lord was speaking through her.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Since we are talking about hearing the Lord in another thread, I will also add that many times, the Lord will use repetition to speak to you. (Especially when you are still trying to learn to discern His voice--He does not give up when you didn't hear Him the first three times; He is very patient). I ran across the same Scripture in 1 Cor. 9 in different places a few more times that week.

im a lot youger than all of you lol im 13 but i think that God can use anyone he chooses....................no matter how young or old they are.
I had an experience with a friend of mine,Sam, who is dating without her parents knowledge. She had asked her bf out and given him a relationship ring, and as she was showing it off another one of my friends said to her, "Why did you ask him out? He's supposed to ask you out and give you the ring" and Sam basically said who cares she asked him out and now they're going out.And I was thankful that I didn't have a boyfriend whom I had asked out --- i mean, the guys are supposed to be the leaders in relationships.
Just a thou8ght.

That's right. God is not a respecter of persons...no matter what the "world" tries to teach us.
